There were to words that worried us in the description of these stockings “one size” fortunately Falbala also included 14% Lycra to give amazing levels of stretch. So whether you are average in foot and leg like our lovely model Sophie, or whether you are considerably longer in leg and foot that one size should be your size.
Let us be clear from the outset that these are stockings styled after the 1950s they are not made like they were in the 1950s. The manufacturing process owes everything to modern techniques from the invisibly reinforced toe, through the knitted in reinforced sole, heel and seam to the spot details. There s nothing wrong in that at all, these are well made stockings that look great on the leg.
From a practical perspective... we love the way the plain top takes a suspender clasp, but of course we repeat our advice to buy a good belt with metal clasps. The shaping at the heel helps to set the whole stocking correctly and that ensures that the seam is easily set straight. Of course you may wish a loved one to straighten your seams for you anyway.
So as fun seamed stockings these are a winner but Falbala is all about extra embellishment, in this case 8 crystals up the back of each leg starting at the tip of the heel and ending at the top of the seam. As you can see from out photographs the studs are very subtle indeed. To be honest we are not sure whether we are disappointed that they are not more obvious, or happy that they have not ruined a nice pair of stockings by being OTT... which I guess means the designer pretty much got it right.
£17.50 is not cheap, but these are quality stockings and hand embellishing takes time. We loved them and look forward to testing and photographing more of the stockings and tights from the Falbala range.
